Eva Gumbel

Eva Corina Gümbel (* 30th January 1964 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German politician of the party Alliance 90 / The Greens Hamburg . Since April 2015 she has been State Councilor for the Authority for Science, Research and Equality . Before that, she was Vice President and member of the Hamburg Parliament .

Life

Her parents are the professor for economics and social sciences Rudolf Gümbel and Hiltrud geb. Urban. Eva Gümbel has a brother and grew up in Ruppertshain in the Vordertaunus near Frankfurt. She graduated from the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main with a degree in literary studies and received her doctorate in 1991 on The Minne and Sayings on the northeastern periphery of the Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation between 1250 and 1350 . She later worked as a journalist for NDR . She is the mother of five children and is married to a pediatrician.

politics

Her political career began in 2008 when she entered the district assembly of Hamburg-Nord ; there she was deputy chairman of her group and, among other things, a member of the youth welfare committee. Until May 12, 2009 she was chairwoman of the Hamburg-Nord district association of the Greens.

In February 2008, she was in the state election on the constituency Barmbek-Uhlenhorst-Dulsberg move as deputies in the Hamburg state parliament. In June 2010 she became Vice-President of the Hamburg Citizenship, Chair of the Science Committee and a member of the Budget Committee, the Culture, Creative Industries and Media Committee and the Elbphilharmonie Parliamentary Committee of Inquiry .

After the break of the black-green coalition at the end of 2010 and early elections at the beginning of 2011 , Gümbel defended her constituency mandate and once again became vice-president, deputy parliamentary group leader and member of the science committee in the 20th citizenship.

In the 2015 general election , Gümbel won another direct mandate in her constituency. She did not accept the mandate, but switched to the Ministry of Science, Research and Equality as State Councilor.
