Eva Håkansson

Eva Håkansson (* 1981 ) is a Swedish mechanical engineer and lecturer at the University of Auckland . She has held a world speed record as the fastest woman on an electric motorcycle since 2014 .

Håkansson comes from a Swedish engineering family and studied business administration , environmental science and mechanical engineering at Mälardalen University . She received her PhD from the University of Denver in 2016 and has been an engineering design lecturer at the University of Auckland since 2017 .

In 2007 she and her father built the ElectroCat , a motorcycle converted into an e-bike . The ElectroCat was the first approved e-bike in Sweden. In 2008 she married Bill Dubé, the designer of the KillaCycle . In 2014, 2015 and 2017, Håkansson set various speed records at the Bonneville Motorcycle Speed ​​Trials with her KillaJoule electric motorcycle . In 2017, she was the fastest woman on an electric motorcycle on a salt lake in Utah , reaching a speed of 410.579 km / h.

Håkansson lives in Colorado with her husband .
