Evamaria Schmidt

Evamaria Schmidt (born January 2, 1926 in Dessau , † June 10, 2014 in Munich ) was a German classical archaeologist .

On April 6, 1955, Schmidt was at the Humboldt University in Berlin with the dissertation “Greek heads of the 4th century BC. A contribution to the investigation of style development ”. There she was also Ludger Alscher's assistant . In 1978 she was at the Technical University of Munich with the thesis “History of the Caryatids . Function and meaning of human carriers and supporting character on the structure "of Classical Archeology habilitation . From 1980 until her retirement in 1991 she was Professor of Classical Archeology at the University of Augsburg .
