Evan and Jaron were an American folk-rock duo.
biography
In the mid-1990s, identical twins, Evan and Jaron Lowenstein from Tucker , Georgia, formed a duo. They performed folk-pop songs in the style of Simon & Garfunkel in Atlanta and the surrounding area and first attracted attention with the indie album Live at KaLo's Coffee House in 1995. Two years later they got a record deal with Island Records and released their major label debut We've Never Heard of You Either .
However, it was unsuccessful and so the move to Columbia followed . In 2000 they had their greatest success there. With the album Evan and Jaron they made it into the Billboard 200 , but especially with the song Crazy for This Girl they got the greatest attention and reached number 15 on the single charts. From My Head to My Heart was a minor hit on the mainstream charts.
What was unusual about the duo was that the two brothers are Orthodox Jews and therefore did not perform at the weekend, which made their career development difficult. Her third album Half Dozen was released in 2004 and could not build on the success. It remained their last publication and the two brothers retired into private life.
In 2009 Jaron Lowenstein returned solo as a country musician under the name Jaron and the Long Road to Love .
