Evangelical Church Puderbach

The Protestant church is a listed church building in Puderbach , a district of Bad Laasphe in the Siegen-Wittgenstein district ( North Rhine-Westphalia ).

History and architecture

The fortified church was built in the middle of the 13th century as a small two-bay hall building with ridge vaults between slightly tapered belt arches on heavy wall pillars. The rectangular choir has moved in. The west tower has only a few slit-like openings. The building appears to have been set up for defense.

Furnishing

  • The windows framed by columns were restored in 1955.
  • The room paintings date from the 2nd half of the 13th century.
  • A raw font from the 13th century
  • The grave of the composer Friedrich Kiel is located near the church wall .
