The Protestant rectory in Horkheim

The Protestant rectory in Heilbronn 's Horkheim district is located on Kirchgasse right next to the Georgskirche .

history

The first written mention of a rectory in Horkheim comes from the Thirty Years' War . In 1647 the spiritual administration in Weinsberg reported that the rectory in Horkheim burned down in 1642, after which the pastors had moved to Heilbronn. A new rectory was built from 1662 to 1666, which was replaced by the current building in 1769/70.

description

The two-story Horkheim rectory is an example of the architecture of a rural rectory in the Baroque style . The upper floor in plastered half-timbering rests on a brick ground floor. The building is characterized by a profiled eaves cornice and a crooked hip roof . The parish barn in the parish garden, which was demolished in 1904, could be reached through the arched gate passage. After the barn was demolished, the passage was walled up and later glazed. The portal of the building shows the Württemberg coat of arms . As a cultural monument , the building is under monument protection .
