The Evans Butte is a 2570 m high, striking and snow-covered witness mountain in the west Antarctic Marie-Byrd-Land . It rises at the head of the Albanus Glacier and marks the southeastern border of the Tapley Mountains in the Queen Maud Mountains .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 1967 after Lieutenant Eldon L. Evans of the United States Navy , medical officer at Byrd Station in the Antarctic winter of 1962.
