Evere is one of 19 municipalities in the bilingual Brussels-Capital Region in Belgium .
Evere is located in the north-east of Brussels and borders the municipalities of Brussels-Stadt , Schaerbeek / Schaarbeek and Woluwe-Saint-Lambert / Sint-Lambrechts-Woluwe in the Brussels-Capital Region and the Flemish municipality of Zaventem .
The important arterial road Chaussée de Louvain / Leuvensesteenweg and the airport slip road Boulevard Léopold III / Leopold III-laan , on which the NATO headquarters are located, run through Evere . The largest cemetery in the capital region is also located in Evere .
Evere is served by two suburban train stations for the S-Bahn and the 55 tram.
The Solarium d'Evère , opened in 1934, was the last open-air swimming pool in Brussels and had a 50 × 20-meter pool with a diving platform and large sunbathing areas. A record visit was recorded on June 12, 1976. Just two years later, the outdoor pool was the last to close in Brussels.
