The Evergreen State College is a public liberal arts college in Olympia in the State of Washington . The college has 243 faculty and approximately 4900 students. There are no mandatory courses or grades.
history
In 1964, a report by the university presidents in Washington called for another university to balance the geographical distribution of state institutions. The legislators subsequently took action and in 1967 approved a new four-year college .
The Evergreen State College was selected from 31 suggestions as the name of the new institution . Evergreen State is the nickname of Washington State. The school opened its doors on October 4, 1971 with 1,178 students.
In addition to the main campus in Olympia, the college now has another campus and an organic farm in Tacoma .
Education
Bachelor and Master degrees are offered in 60 fields of study. Tuition fees are $ 6,800 per year for Washington state students and $ 25,000 per year for foreign students.
