Ewa Braun (born August 2, 1944 in Krakow , Lesser Poland Voivodeship , Poland) is a Polish art director and production designer who won the award for best production design at the Gdynia film festival in 1987 and the Oscar for best production design in 1994 .

Life

Ewa Braun, daughter of the writer Andrzej Braun , began her career as art director and production designer in the film industry in 1968 for the television series Przygody psa Cywila and worked on the staging of more than forty films and television series until 2004.

In 1987 she and Jerzy Sajko, Andrzej Przedworski, Andrzej Halinski, Violette Daneau and Michal Sulkiewicz won the award for the best production design at the Gdynia Film Festival for the fantasy film drama Cudowne dziecko (1987) by Waldemar Dziki with Rusty Jedwab , Natasza Maraszek and Edward Garsonk in the main roles .

At the Academy Awards in 1994 she and Allan Starski received the Oscar for best production design on Schindler's List (1993) by Steven Spielberg with Liam Neeson , Ben Kingsley and Ralph Fiennes .
