The Ewaldsee is a still water body in the area of ​​the Ruhr area cities Gelsenkirchen (independent) and Herten ( Recklinghausen district ) in North Rhine-Westphalia .

The 13- hectare quarry pond , which is around 580 meters long and a maximum of 320 meters wide, was created through the construction of the A 2 . Not far to the north is the Resser Bach and the A 2, not far to the west is the Holzbach and the L 638 state road . The L 630 runs to the southwest and the L 644 to the east.
