The Exbek is a brook that once flowed into the Eider near Borgstedt in the Rendsburg-Eckernförde district .

Due to the inclusion of the Eider in the Eider Canal in the 18th century, the brook flows north of the Rader Island near Borgstedter Enge into the former canal bed created by the straightening of the Kiel Canal between 1912 and 1914 .

The mouth is marked by a stone bridge that stands on the towpath between Borgstedt and Lehmbek . This stone was used since 1784 under the reign of the Danish King Christian VII .
