Experiment Fear is an American death metal - band from Appleton , Wisconsin , which was founded in the 1989th
history
After guitarist Jeff Loomis had recorded a demo with the band System in 1988, which included four songs, he joined the newly formed band Experimental Fear the following year. In 1991 a first demo followed with Choir Invisible , whereupon the group consisted of the guitarist Phil DesLauriers, the singer Danny Miller and the drummer Jon Griesbach in addition to Loomis. After that, Loomis left the band to join Sanctuary and Nevermore . They also released a solo album called Zero Order Phase in 2008 . On the next demo Fool's Paradise , which followed in 1993, Joe Ways could be heard as the new singer. After that, Death Chamber Audio became aware of the band. The band recorded new material with producer Brian Griffin ( Broken Hope ). This was then licensed by Massacre Records and released in 1995 as the album Assuming the Godform . On the album Joe Ptacek of Broken Hope was to be heard in the songs Compelled and Jester of the Anxious as a guest musician. Another demo followed in 2000, before the group expressed plans in 2003 to release an EP called Engender the Hatred , which has not yet been released. The band now consisted of the bassist and singer Tom Ales, Joe Schermitzler, who had switched from bass to drums, the guitarist Scott Ebbens and the guitarist and singer Phil DesLauriers.
style
The band names groups like Pestilence , Kreator and Morbid Saint as influences . According to Leimy from crossfire-metal.de, the band on Assuming the Godform play technically quite demanding Death Metal. Otherwise it is typical aggressive American Death Metal that reminds of Oppressor's first two works . In the songs there are "astonishingly thrashy and even melodic parts up to powerful groovy mid-tempo parts". The guitars used in the songs solo would sometimes very strongly of James Murphy remember.
