architecture

Exterior description

The church is a simple baroque building that is south. The south tower has arched sound windows . Above it is an octagonal attachment and a lantern, set off by cornices . A narrower front yoke is attached to the nave on the north side. A small porch is built in front of the north facade. In a niche there is a figure of St. Joseph from the middle of the 18th century. This possibly comes from the workshop of the artist family Witwer .

Inside description

In the late Baroque building tradition, the nave has a front yoke and a square yoke with square vaults and a flat, round triumphal arch separates the nave from the choir. The square vaulted choir is currently closed. The church was given new decorations in 1871, but the ceiling paintings that were created at that time were changed again by Thomas Köhle around 1900 . Wolfram Köberl painted today's vaulted ceiling in 1978: The baroque illusion painting in the chancel seems to open the vault to the sky. The theme is the “Dream of St. Joseph". The ceiling painting in the main room, which shows the birth of Christ, is designed in a similar manner.

Furnishing

The altar furnishings are from the last quarter of the 18th century. The high altar picture shows St. Joseph and dates from the first half of the 19th century. It is flanked by figures of Saints Peter and Paul . The images on the two side altars point to the two brotherhoods of the Holy Father established in the 19th century. Heart of Jesus (1818) and St. Heart of Mary (1842) back. The left side altar is consecrated to the Heart of Jesus . The altarpiece "Heart of Jesus" dates from the 19th century. The flanking figures depict Saint Sebastian and Aloisius . They are attributed to Josef Anton Renn and date from the second half of the 18th century. The right side altar is a Marian altar. The altarpiece is from the 19th century. These flanking figures of St. Francis and the Sorrowful Madonna were also made by Renn. The two altar leaves come from the local painter Johann Gabl .

In glass shrines on the side walls is the Maria Immaculata on the left , above it a crucifix. On the right side the guardian angel Raphael with Tobias, supplemented by the stations of the cross and the brotherhood flags, which probably come from the first inventory of the church.

organ

The organ by Andreas Mauracher is a parapet organ and dates from 1805; it was restored by Thomas Sittler between 2000 and 2001 .
