Andreas Mauracher

Andreas Mauracher (born February 8, 1758 in Kapfing , today part of the municipality of Fügen ; † November 9, 1824 there ) was a Tyrolean carpenter and organ builder from the Zillertal . He was the founder of the Fügen line of the Mauracher family of organ builders .

Life

Andreas, son of Georg Mauracher's third marriage (1704–1786), was a carpenter who made altars, pulpits and the like. As an obvious autodidact, he created around 40 instruments, including several organs, which were tuned by the organist Michael Lechner from Fügen.

Andreas was married to Elisabeth, née Holzmeister. His son Karl Mauracher continued to run the family business.
