Eyachmühle is a district of the Dobel municipality in the Calw district in Baden-Württemberg .

Geographical location and geology

The district is located in the Eyachtal in the northern Black Forest at an altitude of 480 m above sea level. at the confluence of the Mannenbach in the Eyach. It consists of eight residential buildings, an inn and an operating building for the Mannenbach water supply . The settlement area lies in the area of ​​the lowest face of the Middle Buntsandstein (Eck'sches conglomerate ) on a fluvial embankment area formed by the Eyach .

history

The "Yach" (Eyach) was first mentioned in 1148. The settlement arose around the grinding mill ("Eyachmühle"), the "Lehensägmühle" and the former Dobler village sawmill. The first sawmill at this location is mentioned in 1423. Evidence of the use of the Eyach's hydropower is available from earlier centuries. The Eyachmühle, after which the district is named, ceased operations in 1894 when the water power of the Mannenbach, which powered it, was needed for the pumping station of the Dobler drinking water supply. It was converted into an "economy". Since then, the “Eyachmühle” inn has been a well-known excursion destination.

The Eyachmühle is the starting point for hikes and bike tours in the nature reserve Eyachtal and in the large, closed forest area up to the high moors at Kaltenbronn .
