In 2005 Ezequias moved to Académica Coimbra , where he became a regular player and contributed to relegation. A year later he was signed by the Portuguese top club FC Porto , where he was only used once. He was initially loaned to SC Beira-Mar , later to Leixões SC to collect match practice.

In the summer of 2008 Ezequias left Portugal and moved to FC Brașov in Romania. After two years in midfield of League 1 , he joined Rapid Bucharest in the summer of 2010 , where he was able to qualify with his team for the Europa League at the end of the season . He was able to repeat this success a year later. At the same time, he and his team made it to the 2012 cup final , but lost 1-0 to Dinamo Bucharest there . In the summer of 2012, his contract was not renewed. He was without a club for half a year before returning to his hometown club SC Corinthians Alagoano .
