Fülhorn and Bättlihorn from the Simplon Pass seen from |
The Fülhorn is a 2736 m above sea level. M. high mountain in Valais in Switzerland . The name comes from the rotten, brittle rock, hence the multiple use of the name. Although the mountain in the vicinity of the four-thousand-meter peaks in the Valais does not seem anything special, it is a full 2000 meters above the valley floor of Brig . Upstream there is still the Folluhorn ( 2656 m ), while on the entire further mountain range running to the east up to the entrance of the Binntal ( i.e. south of the main Valais valley), the highest height with the Bättlihorn is 2951 m .
Access
The summit is reached in a direct ascent from Rosswald or as a conclusion after a hike from Binn over the Saflisch Pass (at the Chleini Öügstchumma to point 2646 and from there to the summit).
rock
This chain is probably less known not only because it never reaches 3000 meters, but also because the rock is so bad; the scree slopes, which are only populated by pioneer plants , can be sandy. From the south, from Graus Hörnli , 2615 m , a bright white intermediate layer of marl stretches into the Saflisch valley, also open directly on the way over the pass. Further east you come to the Binntal, known for its minerals .
