The Fürstenbrunnen is a contained spring near Fichtelberg in the Bayreuth district in Upper Franconia .

There are two sources close together, the Obere Fürstenbrunnen at 940 m above sea level. NN ( location ) and the Lower Fürstenbrunnen at 887 m above sea level. NN ( location ). Both are located near the European main watershed on the southeast slope of the Ochsenkopf (1024 m), the second highest mountain in the Fichtelgebirge . The stream that rises at the Fürstenbrunnen flows over the Warm Steinach into the Red Main . The blue and white marked hiking trail from Warmensteinach to the Ochsenkopf summit leads past the Fürstenbrunnen . It is not to be confused with the Weißmainquelle, also known as the Fürstenbrunnen .
Source version
It is not known when the source was first drafted. A new granite stone surround was inaugurated on July 20, 2013. The initiative to collect the spring came from the Oberwarmensteinach local group of the Fichtelgebirgsverein .
