FDProject is a German music project in the field of electronic music . Behind it is the musician and composer Frank Dorittke (born October 27, 1964 in Dinslaken ). His musical style ranges from Berlin School to rock . The hallmark of his compositions is sensitive guitar playing, often with references to the music of Mike Oldfield .

Life

Frank Dorittke found his love for music and the guitar at an early age and has been the guitarist of the Dinslaken hard rock band Imagine since 1989 . In the band he plays the lead guitar, a Gibson Flying V Lefthand, a special version for left-handers. Other members of the band are Horst Juhst (vocals and bass), Gilbert Steffan (vocals and drums) and Artur Linke (guitar).

In the early 1990s he discovered electronic music as a second passion, in particular through the works of Tangerine Dream ( Stratosfear ), Klaus Schulze and Jean-Michel Jarre . He began to write his own pieces with the help of a Commodore 64 and Steinberg's Studio 16 sequencer program . Over the years he expanded his equipment to include synthesizers and effects devices. His first CD, Electronic Dreams, was only released in 2003 . In the vibration elections in the same year he was named “Best Newcomer”. Further awards for the following albums followed.

For the first time at a live concert in May 2009, then in Derby and in January 2010 in Oirschot , FDProject plays in a new formation together with Ron Boots and Harold van der Heijden (drums).
