The FBC Uppsala is a Swedish sports club from the city of Uppsala .

history

The association was created in 2009 through the merger of Nyby IBK, Årsta IK and Sten Sture BK.

Division 1

In 2010, the FBC narrowly missed promotion to the top division because they had the worse goal difference. The 2010/11 season ended in sixth place. The following season ended the women's team in third place. Strangely enough, the FBC youth team played in the same league as the first team. The 2012/13 season ended in first place. Thus, the club took part in the promotion games for the SSL. In the promotion games you defeated Sala Silberstaden IBK, Warberg IC and Telge SIBK . Thus you stood for the first time in the club's history in the Svenska Superligan.

Promotion to SSL

In the first season Uppsala managed to finish the season in 11th place and to keep in the league. In 2014/15 the FBC was able to improve in the league and missed the playoffs by four points to IBK Dalen. In the third season, Uppsala managed to qualify for the playoffs for the first time, as they were in fifth place at the end of the regular season. In the quarter-finals, the FBC failed to Pixbo Wallenstam.

After the success from the previous season, the FBC failed to repeat the strong performances from the previous season. After qualifying they were in ninth place and did not qualify for the playoffs.

Upheaval

After the 2016/17 season, the club announced that they would compete in the Svenska Superligan under the name IK Sirius IBK from the 2017/18 season . Thus, the women's team also belongs to the Uppsala-based IK Sirius . The youth division will continue to compete in the national championship under the name FBC Uppsala.

Stadion

The Sirius teams play in the IFU Arena if possible. It has a capacity of 2880 seats.
