The Einsiedeln football club is a football club in Einsiedeln in the canton of Schwyz in Switzerland . He played from 1983 to 1991 in the 1st league , today in the 2nd interregional league .
history
FC Einsiedeln was founded on July 25, 1958. In the same year, the first soccer field, Landis & Gyr-Platz (today's name: Steinel-Platz) was put into operation. In 1978 the Rappenmöösli soccer field was opened. In 1995 a second grass football field, the Schlyffi-Platz, was opened with a three-day celebration. On September 7, 2002, the newly built clubhouse Rappenmöösli of the FCE is officially opened with a festive ceremony.
Sporty
The first team started in the 4th division in 1958 . In 1963 he was promoted to the 3rd division . 1976 succeeded another promotion to the 2nd division . In 1983, FC Einsiedeln rose to the first division under player-coach Hermann Kälin after a play-off against FC Amriswil in Wetzikon . In 1985, FC Einsiedeln took first place in its group in the first division under coach Armin Hürlimann. In the promotion games to the National League B , the team failed despite a win in the away game in Freiburg (1-0) because of the European Cup formula (1: 2 home defeat) at FC Friborg . In 1991 the first team was relegated to the second division after losing in the playoff against SC Veltheim . The first team of the FCE had to relegate to the 3rd division after years in the 2nd division. After four years in the 3rd division, FC Einsiedeln returned to the regional 2nd division in 2008. In 2017, the FCE rose to the 2nd interregional league .
