FC Kotajk Abowjan ( Armenian Ֆուտբոլային Ակումբ Կոտայք Աբովյան ), Futbolayin Akumb Kotajk Abowjan; ( Russian Футбольный Клуб Котайк Абовян ) is an Armenian football club from Abovyan .

history

The club was founded in 1955 and was a member of the Armenian League, which was newly founded in 1992 . In 1995 and 1996 the club was in the cup final , but lost each time. In 1998 they withdrew from the league. Two years later, the league was increased from 8 to 13 clubs, the club was one of six promoted teams.

In 2005 the association was renamed Esteghlal-Kotajk Abowjan . In 2006 the association was dissolved.

In June 2016, the club returned to professional football. However, the club is only allowed to compete in Aradżin chumb for the 2016/17 season .
