The Football Club Libourne is a French football club from Libourne , a town in the Gironde department , 25 kilometers east of Bordeaux .

It was founded in 1935 as FC Libourne . The club carried this name until 1966, when it was called Association Sportive de Libourne ; In 1998 it merged with AS Saint-Seurin-sur-L'Isle and was called FC Libourne-Saint-Seurin until 2009 . It has since returned to its original name after the merger was dissolved.

The club colors are blue and white; the league team, often referred to as les Pingouins in France , plays at the Stade Jean Antoine Moueix , which has a capacity of 6,050 seats.

League affiliation

Libourne took on professional status for the first time in 2006/07 and has not yet been represented in the top division ( Division 1 , renamed Ligue 1 since 2002 ); for the 2009/10 season the forced relegation to the fourth class CFA and 2013/14 the first team only plays in the sixth division .
