In August 1861 the MTV was founded by 1861 Sarstedt . Eleven years later, the choir left the MTV and joined the war club . Soccer

In 1948 the footballers were promoted to the Hildesheim regional league and qualified for the Lower Saxony- East amateur league a year later . This league turned out to be a size too big for the club. With 5:63 points and 118 goals conceded, the FSV was beaten last. In the following season 1950/51, the team in the amateur league 3 was passed down. As early as 1956, the club slipped into the district league. In 1961, the Sarstedter reached again the amateur league 3 , where after two years the relegation followed again. Since then, the club has only played at district level. After two consecutive promotions, the FSV has played in the Hildesheim district league since 2003 . The season 2012/2013 finished the FSV in 5th place in the 1st district class Hildesheim Relay A.
