The ETR 600 (from Italian E lettro T reno R apido ) is a high-speed train with tilting technology from Alstom , which belongs to the fourth generation of the Pendolino . Thanks to the active tilting technology , the trolleys can be tilted by up to 8 degrees and turn corners faster. The ETR 600 was designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro .
history
Trenitalia ordered 28 of the new generation, which were delivered in mid-2008. In December 2008, the train type between Rome and Bari was first used in regular service.
From December 2008 Trenitalia introduced new nicknames for their high-speed trains, categorizing them according to top speed. The second fastest train category - after Frecciarossa (red arrow), as the ETR 500 was henceforth called - is Frecciargento (silver arrow), for trains with maximum speeds between 250 and 285 km / h. The trains are now called "ETR 600 Frecciargento" and "ETR 610 Frecciargento". With the new brand names, new colors were introduced, which FS presented on November 13, 2008.
The vehicle bodies developed by Alstom were built by the Alstom works in Savigliano near Turin, the electrical equipment in Sesto San Giovanni near Milan.
Technical specifications
The train sets have a total of seven vehicles, two of which are railcars at the ends, two powered and three non-powered intermediate cars. A total of 430 seats and two wheelchair spaces are available. With a car length of 26.2 m (LüP 28.2 m) of the car bodies built with aluminum extrusion profiles, the train length is 187.4 m with a car width of 2.83 m. The maximum axle load (loaded) is 16.5 t, so that the train mass of the empty train is 387 t, the train mass of the occupied train (all seats occupied) is 421 t.
The maximum permitted speed is 250 km / h, and 280 km / h were achieved on a test basis. The electrical continuous output is 5500 kW. The tilting system is electro-hydraulically controlled with a redundant HVAC control system.
