Fabian Hischmann

Fabian Hischmann (* 1983 in Donaueschingen ) is a German writer . He lives in Berlin.

Career

Fabian Hischmann studied creative writing and cultural journalism in Hildesheim , as well as literary writing at the German Literature Institute in Leipzig . In 2011 he received financial support through the Bremen Authors' Scholarship , a funding program under the patronage of the Bremen Senator for Culture. Furthermore, he was able to achieve a place among the top ten participants in the FM4 short story competition Wortlaut . In 2013, under the direction of Paul Jandl, he took part in the writing workshop of the Jürgen Ponto Foundation in the Edenkoben mansion. His debut novel, The End We Throw Gold , was published in 2014. This coming-of-age novel was nominated for the prestigious Leipzig Book Fair Prize in the same year . With his debut, the author got caught in the crossfire of the so-called Florian Kessler literary debate. The book was then widely and controversially discussed. In 2017 his second novel The Circumference of Places was published . In August 2019, the short story volume Everyone wants to experience was published.
