Fabiane dos Santos (born May 30, 1976 ) is a former Brazilian athlete who was active in the 800 meter run .

She won the silver medal at the 1994 South American Junior Championships in Santa Fe . At the Brazilian championships in 1995 she tested positive for the anabolic steroid nandrolone and was banned for four years. However, it benefited from a change in the IAAF rules, which reduced the ban to two years.

After her return, dos Santos increased her personal best to 2: 01.70 minutes in Barcelona in 2000 . In February 2001 she improved the Brazilian national record to 2: 00.98 minutes in an indoor competition in Stockholm . Shortly afterwards, she started at the World Indoor Championships in Lisbon in 2001 , but did not reach the final.

In July 2001, at the Herculis , the Golden League meeting in Monaco , she set a new Brazilian national record with 1: 57.16 minutes outdoors. By this time dos Santos was second in the world best list and was considered one of the favorites for the World Championships in Edmonton . However, shortly before that, a drug test from May turned out to be positive for testosterone . Dos Santos was banned for life as a repeat offender and all results were canceled from May.
