Fabio Lione (born October 9, 1973 in Pisa , Italy ; actually Fabio Tordiglione ) is an Italian metal singer and Eurobeat musician who is and was active in several bands, the most famous of which is Rhapsody of Fire .

Fabio Lione, born on October 9, 1973 as Fabio Tordiglione, was very interested in nature and animals as a child and enjoyed playing video games. He bought his first metal and hard rock music album at the age of 14 in the form of The Final Countdown from Europe . While singing the album's theme song, a classmate discovered his talent. Fabio could not read the notes well, but sang the high pitches of the Europe singer Joey Tempest very similarly. Therefore, he took singing lessons and sang songs from some English-speaking rock bands as well as songs by Luciano Pavarotti .

After attending the Monsters of Rock Festival, he began to cover rock 'n' roll with a small youth band at the age of 17 . He discovered his musical preference for representatives of progressive metal such as Queensryche , Fates Warning and Crimson Glory . 1993 recorded a demo tape with the progressive metal band Athena and played 20 concerts. Under the pseudonym Joe Terry he also joined the band Labyrinth , with whom he recorded another demo. He also graduated from the technical college with average grades. He recorded a mini CD with Labyrinth and a year later the album No Limits , but left the band in the same year.

In 1997, at the age of 24, he joined the power metal band Rhapsody of Fire , then still Rhapsody, and produced an album with them. A year later the second followed and in the same year an album by Athena was released, on which he sang. After the release, however, it was decided to break up the band. In 1999 he joined the band Vision Divine , where his former colleague Olaf Thorsen played the guitar from the times of the Labyrinth. Their first album was released in October. That year he also sang as a guest singer on the Ayreon album Flight of the Migrator .

In 2000 the third Rhapsody album came out and he had a European tour with this band together with well-known bands like Sonata Arctica and Stratovarius . He also played at the Wacken Festival for the first time . In addition, the first Eurobeat songs by Lione (under the name J. Storm) appeared on the samplers of the Super Eurobeat series . The next year a Rhapsody EP and an album were released, he was on tour a lot with his two bands and played at the Gods of Metal Festival in Italy and the Rock Machina Festival in Spain. In 2002 two new albums were released, one from each band. Again he toured a lot, the first time with Rhapsody as headliner . In the future he decided to concentrate only on Rhapsody and his new solo project and left Vision Divine in December 2003. This solo project is supposed to produce a mixture of ballads and metal songs. Two more albums with Rhapsody were later released.

In 2010 and 2011 Lione represented the sick Kamelot singer Roy Khan on the Poetry-for-the-Poisoned tour. He has been performing with Angra since 2013 . Initially only thought of as an interim solution, he is now an integral part of the band. On September 29, 2016, the singer announced his exit from Rhapsody of Fire. His new band is Eternal Idol , who released their debut album in early December 2016. In 2017 he also joined the band Steel Seal and can be heard on their current album The Lion's Den . Between 2017 and 2018 Lione was also on tour with Luca Turilli and other former bandmates as part of the Rhapsody Reunion ; this resulted in the new band Turilli / Lione Rhapsody , in which Lione is now the lead singer again.
