Rainer Römer

Rainer Römer (born August 14, 1956 in Würzburg ) is a German drummer , music college professor and radio play author .

Life

Rainer Römer studied from 1974 to 1980 at the University of Music in Würzburg . Since 1985 he is a member of the Ensemble Modern in Frankfurt . In 2004 he took over a professorship at the local University of Music and Performing Arts .

Römer became known for his sound installations , radio play music and audio pieces. His play Oberman based on Étienne Pivert de Senancour was awarded radio play of the month by the German Academy of Performing Arts in March 2006 .
