Fabio Morábito (born February 21, 1955 in Alexandria , Egypt ) is a Mexican author and poet.

Life

Morábito spent his childhood in Milan as a child of Italian parents . He has lived in Mexico DF , the capital of Mexico, since he was 15 . There he began to write in Spanish.

In 1998 Morábito took part in the Berlin artist program of the German Academic Exchange Service . He recorded his experiences there in the collection of stories Tambíen Berlín se olvida .

Morábito was also known for his translations from Italian of novels and essays, as well as poetry and children's books into Spanish. He translated all of the poems of the Italian Nobel Prize winner Eugenio Montale . This translation has been available in the Gutenberg project since 2005 . He also translated Aminta by Torquato Tasso .
