The narrator Knox Manning describes a boat trip on the Colorado River . Nine men drive through the Grand Canyon in three specially constructed rowing boats . Within 19 days they pass over 200 rapids. Fortunately, there are no failures on this trip, even if the camera shows the bones of unfortunate adventurers who have taken the same route. The drive ends at Lake Mead .

In addition to director Edwin E. Olson, who took part in the boat trip in his second role as cameraman, Norman Nevills (1908-1949) can be seen, who was the first to make economic use of the white water rafting through the Grand Canyon. Under his direction, the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon area was sailed for the first time by two women.

The film premiered on May 11, 1946.
