Faith Ford (* 14. September 1964 in Alexandria , Louisiana , native Alexis Ford ) is an American actress .

Life and accomplishments

Ford, the daughter of a teacher, was a high school finalist in a competition to find young models. She moved to New York City , where she worked as a model and appeared in several commercials. Ford made her actress debut in 1983 on the television series Love, Lie, Passion, and Another World . In 1984 she moved to Hollywood . Several guest roles in television series followed; in the series The Popcorn Kid (1987) she was seen in all six episodes. In the comedy You Talkin 'to Me? (1987) she played one of the bigger roles.

From 1988 to 1998 Ford appeared in the television series Murphy Brown . That role earned her Emmy nominations in 1989, 1990, 1991, 1992, and 1994 ; in 1991 and 1992 she was nominated for the Golden Globe Award and in 1996 for the American Comedy Award .

The magazine People chose Ford in 1991 to the list of the 50 most beautiful personalities (The 50 Most Beautiful People) . Appearances on the 1998 television series Maggie Winters earned her a 1999 TV Guide Award nomination . In the comedy The Babynator (2005) she appeared in a larger role on the side of Vin Diesel .

Ford was married to Robert Nottingham from 1989 to 1996. In 1998 she married director Campion Murphy.
