Fantasea is the first mixtape from rapper Azealia Banks , which on 11 June 2012, shortly after the release of their first EP in 1991 was published. The mixtape was released independently from a label and is free to download.

background

Banks first mentioned the mixtape in a tweet on May 10, 2012, in which she wrote that her first EP would be out in May 1991 and a "FANTASTIC mixtape" would be out in the summer. On May 30, 2012, Banks changed the title of the mixtape from Fantastic to Fantasea . She released the cover on July 9, 2012, and later said that Fantasea will contain 18 tracks (15 originals and 3 remixes). Later she said on Twitter that this mixtape was a kind of "first album" and was used as a test.

publication

On May 11, 2012, Banks released the song Jumanji as a free download on the Internet. The song was produced by Hudson Mohawke and Nick Hook and was the first song that should be included on the planned mixtape. A second song, Aquababe , which was produced by EPROM and Machinedrum, was released on June 13, 2013 on the Internet. Before the album was actually released, Banks released the song Nathan with rapper Styles P on June 30, 2012 . The song was produced by Drums of Death. Neptune was also put online before the mixtape was released. The song was released on July 10, 2012 and was recorded with Shystie . On September 27, 2012, she released a music video for the song Luxury and on November 11, 2012 for the song Atlantis .
