Fantasy Fair and Magic Mountain Music Festival

The Fantasy Fair and Magic Mountain Music Festival took place on June 10-11, 1967 at the Cushing Memorial Amphitheater on Mount Tamalpais, north of San Francisco , a week before the Monterey Pop Festival . Around 15,000 visitors saw a varied music program, including Canned Heat , Country Joe and the Fish , Captain Beefheart , The Byrds and Jefferson Airplane . The Doors made their first major appearance here.

The festival, which was organized by the radio station KFRC, is one of the very first rock festivals . It can be seen as part of the Summer of Love 1967.

Admission was 2 $ , all receipts have been the Hunters Point Child Care Center in San Francisco donated.
