Farid Zaland

Farid Zaland (or Zoland ; Persian فرید زلاند; Pashtun ځَلاند; * August 31, 1955 in Kabul ) is a composer , singer and musician from Afghanistan . He comes from a family of artists. His sisters Soheila Zaland and Shala Zaland and his brother Wahid Zaland are also musicians and have sung some hits.

Life

Farid Zaland is the eldest son of Ustad Jalil Zaland . The latter is one of the co-founders of the famous orchestra of the national Radio Television Afghanistan (RTA), whose musicians either went abroad in the 1980s or were unable to pursue their profession for various political reasons.

Farid Zaland came to Iran in 1969 to study at the Tehran University of Music. There he made contact with famous singers of the Persian language . He composed several pieces of music for some of these singers like Dariush, Googoosh , Ebi , Sattar, Moein and Hayedeh . Some of these pieces of music have become big hits all over Central Asia , particularly Iran , Tajikistan and Afghanistan .
