Farnstädt (royal court)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Königshof Farnstädt was a Palatinate in the area of today's Farnstädt about ten kilometers north of Querfurt , near the BAB 38 .

history

Farnistat appears twice in the Hersfeld tithe index and is named in the middle of the 12th century alongside Eisleben and others among the courts “que pertinent ad mensam regis Romani” in the so-called table goods index of the Roman king as “Warenstada”. 1144 gave King Conrad III. Paulinzelle Monastery, which was temporarily relocated near Farnstädt, has a king's hoof "in the kunigesholte" (Königs-, Kirchen-, Kilianshagen). In 1179, Emperor Friedrich I gave the Kaltenborn monastery four pounds of pfennigs from one Lite, one Slav and several serfs hooves ("mansus famulorum") in the village of Farnstädt, which belongs to the "curtis" Allstedt.

Other imperial estates have been split up and alienated over time. Substantial parts came into the possession of the knights "de Hallis" ( von Halle ), who appear consistently as vassals of the nobles of Schraplau , including the robber baron Gerhard von Halle zu Farnstädt, against whom the citizens of Halle in 1437 with 600 riders, 1000 foot soldiers and artillery went into the field. They took the remnants of the permanent house in Ober-Farnstädt , which was partially surrounded by a moat (later the "Rittergut Unterhof").

In the 18th century, Farnstädt was owned by the von Geusau family , whose epitaphs can be found in the church “St. Johannes Evangelist und Paulus ”at Ober-Farnstädt are preserved.
