The Faro La Marina is a lighthouse ( Faro in Spanish ) in Miraflores , a district of Lima in Peru .
history
The 22 meter high iron tower was first erected in 1900 on Punta Coles, a headland south of Ilo . In 1973 it was dismantled and rebuilt on the cliffs of Miraflores and put into operation. The beacon has a fire height m of 108 and shows, as identifier , a group of three flashes with a return of 15 seconds (Fl (3) W.15s). The Faro La Marina is also equipped with the Automatic Identification System (AIS).
The lighthouse, painted dark blue with two white ribbons, is the most popular and most visited in Peru.
