Faruq al-Qadumi

Faruq al-Qadumi ( Arabic فاروق القدومي, DMG Fārūq al-Qadūmī , also known as Abu l-Lutf ; * August 10, 1931 near Nablus ) is foreign minister of the PLO and lives in Tunis .

Life

Al-Qadumi grew up in Jaffa , from where his family fled in 1948. He graduated from high school in Lebanon and became a member of the Ba'ath Party . From 1954 to 1958 he studied economics and political science in Cairo. He was one of the founders of Fatah in 1959 and became head of the secret service in 1967.

As a PLO spokesman, he slandered the widow of the Jewish wheelchair user Leon Klinghoffer, who was murdered by Palestinian terrorists in the 1985 Achille Lauro kidnapping . She would have murdered Klinghoffer herself in order to get his life insurance.

Since the death of Yasser Arafat , al-Qadumi has also been Secretary General of Fatah . He is one of the greatest critics of Mahmoud Abbas .
