Fastjet PLC , also called fastjet plc , is a British - South African holding company for various airlines in Southern Africa and East Africa . The company was founded in 2011 and is listed on the London Stock Exchange .
Company structure and trademark rights
Fastjet's corporate structure is confusing. Fastjet Airlines or fastjet is just a brand of the Tanzanian Fly540. This is owned by Fastjet PLC. The trademark rights for FastJet were in South Africa to Fedair and Mozambique to Solenta Mozambique assigned. Solenta Mozambique is a subsidiary of the South African Solenta Aviation . This in turn also directly holds 28 percent of the shares in fastjetz plc.
The parent company and the Zimbabwean subsidiary are (as of January 2020) financially strong.
Subsidiaries
- Fastjet Airlines ( IATA: FN , ICAO: FTZ ); emerged from Fly 540 Tanzania in 2011 and ceased operations as an independent airline in 2019. She flew in Tanzania and southern Africa
- Fastjet Mozambique , Mozambican airline with its home airport in Maputo (since November 2017 ). Fastjet Mozambique was discontinued on October 26, 2019.
- Fastjet South Africa , South African airline under construction (as of July 2019)
- Fastjet Zimbabwe , Zimbabwean airline with its home airport in Harare (since October 2015)
