Fatima El-Tayeb

Fatima El-Tayeb (* 1966 in Uelzen ) is a German historian and screenwriter .

Life

Fatima El-Tayeb studied history and American studies at the University of Hamburg from 1990 to 1996 . In 2001 she received her doctorate as a historian.

Since 2002 she has been co-organizer of the research project “ Black European Studies ” (BEST) at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz . From 2003 to 2004 she was curator of the “ Black Atlantic ” project in Berlin . Since 2005 she is a lecturer for "African American Culture and Film" ( African-American cultural studies and film) at the University of California in San Diego , USA .
