Fay Helm (born April 9, 1909 in Bakersfield , California , USA - † September 27, 2003 in Santa Monica , California) was an American actress .
life and work
Fay Helm began her acting career in small theaters such as the Bakersfield Community Theater and the Portland Civic Theater . In the 1930s she came to Hollywood, where she appeared in films such as Blind Fury , San Francisco , Victim of a Great Love , Miss Kitty , Blossoms in the Dust, and Polonaise . She was only seen in supporting roles, often uncredited , but sometimes also in more important roles, such as the first victim in Der Wolfsmensch or the title character in Witness wanted . She also played Mrs. Fuddle in four films in the Blondie series, namely Blondie , Blondie Brings Up Baby , Blondie on a Budget and Blondie Has Servant Trouble . In 1946 she retired from the film business.
After two short marriages with lawyers in the early 1940s, she married a dental surgeon , with whom she remained married until his death in 1957. Fay Helm died of pneumonia in 2003 . She is buried in Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City .
