Fayetteville Patriots

The Fayetteville Patriots are a former basketball team of the NBA Development League , which in Fayetteville ( North Carolina was located).

history

In 2001 the Patriots were one of eight founding teams of the National Basketball Development League NBDL (later D-League and G-League). The Patriots were assigned players from the NBA teams Charlotte Bobcats , Detroit Pistons or New York Knicks .

In the 2002/03 season, the team was able to reach the NBDL final, but lost to the Mobile Revelers 2-1. That season, Devin Brown was named NBDL's Most Valuable Player (MVP).

On May 2, 2006, the NBA D-League decided not to let a team compete in Fayetteville to explore other locations.
