Federico Giunti (born August 6, 1971 in Perugia , Italy ) is a former Italian football player and current coach . He last played in midfield at AC Chievo Verona in the Italian Serie B and was considered a free-kick specialist.

Career

As a player

Federico Giunti made his professional debut at AC Perugia , with whom he rose from Serie C1 to Serie A within three years . During this time he completed the only international match of his career in a 2-1 friendly match against Bosnia-Herzegovina on November 6, 1996.

After a season at AC Parma , Giunti moved to AC Milan in 1999 , for whom he scored his only goal in a 6-0 derby win over Inter in 2001 . From Milan Federico Giunti moved to Brescia Calcio , where he was under contract in the 2001/02 season .

In the summer of 2002 Giunti moved to the Turkish club Beşiktaş Istanbul . There he won the Turkish Championship under coach Mircea Lucescu in the 2002/03 season . The 2004/05 season spent Federico Giunti then back at home at Bologna FC .

From 2005 to 2008 he was under contract with Chievo Verona , with whom he relegated to Serie B in the 2006/07 season. In 2008 he was still playing for Treviso FC .

As a trainer

Giunti began his coaching career in the youth of Perugia Calcio . After joining the youth team at Foligno Calcio , he became head coach of Foligno a short time later. After two lower-class positions at AS Castel Rigone and ASD Gualdo Casacastalda , there was another short position at Foligno Calcio. From 2016 to 2017 he was the trainer of the SS Maceratese . For the 2017/18 season he was coach of the second division AC Perugia Calcio , but was released after a short time.
