Federico Munerati (born October 16, 1901 in La Spezia , † July 26, 1980 in Chiavari ) was an Italian football player and coach .

Munerati, also known as Ricciolo , played as a striker during his playing career and was known for his strength and sprinting ability.

Player career

In the club

Federico Munerati began his career in the early 1920s with Spezia Calcio and Novara Calcio . In 1923 he moved to Juventus Turin , where he also played most of the time. Between 1923 and 1933, the striker played a total of 256 games for Juve and scored 114 goals. At the Turin club he was able to win four Italian championships and was part of the Quinquennio d'Oro team in the early 1930s . In the 1933/34 season he played for Sampierdarenese in Serie B , before he ended his active career at Biellese , in the third division, at the end of the 1937/38 season.

In the national team

Federico Munerati made his debut on July 18, 1926 playing in Sweden for the Italian national team . He played a total of four games for Italy between 1926 and 1927.

Coaching career

In 1940, Federico Munerati replaced Umberto Caligaris, who had recently died, as coach of Juventus Turin on an interim basis . In 1941 he was succeeded by Giovanni Ferrari on the post of Juve coach. Nevertheless, he contributed to winning the Coppa Italia in 1941/42 . After the Second World War Munerati trained Acireale Calcio , Biellese and Borgosesia Calcio .
