The Feierabendhaus is a building in Darmstadt .
Architecture and history
The Feierabendhaus was built in 1898 according to plans by the architect Scherer . The solid -looking elongated, two-story building with its upgraded tile-roofed steep roof was built in neo-Gothic style as a nurses' home of Elisabeth pen built. The contrast between the plastered facade and the natural stone that divides the building is striking . In the second half of the 19th century, the neo-Gothic style, understood as an ecclesiastical style, determines the architectural style of the building with the ogival framed windows and the applied decorative shapes such as the tracery strip running through the second floor .
Inside the building there is a staircase with a freely swinging staircase .
The historical enclosure from the time it was built is part of the whole .
Monument protection
For architectural and city history reasons, the picturesque building is a cultural monument .
The after-work house today
The after-work house was renovated between 2014 and 2015 . Today the building no longer serves as a nurses' home.
