Felice Minotti (born November 19, 1887 in Milan , † March 21, 1963 in Turin ) was an Italian actor .

Life

At the age of thirteen, Minotti was a regular member of an amateur drama group; The activity became a profession with the multi-year engagement of a variety theater with which he toured Italy and Central Europe. He made his first film as early as 1908 when he played a role in Edoardo Bencivenga's experimental L'uomo dalla testa dura . His filmography, which was almost uninterrupted until his death, began three years later; he was seen alongside burlesque comedian Monthus in his farces. Three years later Minotti played in Turin for “Savoia Films” in the sketches about the “Bonifacio” character embodied by Emilio Vardannes . He was then hired by Itala Film , so that he was engaged for some of the most important Italian films of the silent film era up to 1920 - Cabiria , L'emigrante , Maciste alpino and L'altra onestà among others.

After returning to the theater for some time, where he was able to celebrate his greatest (and only personal) success as a member of the ensemble around Riccardo and Umberto Vitaliani in I figli di nessuno , he was featured in the resumed film series about the muscular Maciste as “Pietro Micca “committed. After the war, Minotti played numerous character roles and did not shy away from even the smallest appearances, which made it difficult to create a complete filmography.

For his activities as a production inspector after the Second World War, he used the pseudonym FM Costa for a while. In 1936 he had directed the film Conquistatori d´anime about the Salesian missionaries with Renzo Chiosso .

Minotti was married to Luigia Corizza since 1907.
