Felicitas Loewe

Felicitas Loewe (born 1959 in Berlin ) is a German theater scholar , dramaturge and theater director . Since 2008 she has directed the Theater Junge Generation (tjg) in Dresden .

Life

Felicitas Loewe studied theater studies at the Humboldt University in Berlin from 1980 to 1985 and then became a dramaturge at the Stralsund Theater until 1988 . She then moved to the Volksbühne Berlin on Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz in 1988 . From 1992 to 1999 she worked as a dramaturge at the Carroussel-Theater an der Parkaue in Berlin, before she worked from 1999 to 2008 as chief dramaturge under the direction of Dietrich Kunze at the Theater Junge Generation (tjg) in Dresden . In 2008 she took over the management of the house herself.

In 2012 her directorship was extended until July 2018 by the City of Dresden and the Mayor of Culture Ralf Lunau . Since January 2015, Loewe has been involved with numerous other people from Dresden's cultural scene in an initiative group initiated by Mayor Helma Orosz to create a concept for the application as European Capital of Culture . In June 2016 the application for the “European Capital of Culture 2025” was decided by the Dresden City Council.
