Felix Mach

Felix Mach (born November 21, 1868 in Tilsit , East Prussia, † November 4, 1940 in Durlach near Karlsruhe) was a German agricultural chemist.

Life

Felix Mach, son of a businessman, studied natural sciences , especially agrochemistry, at the Albertus University in Königsberg from 1887 . In 1887 he became active in the Corps Littuania . He finished his studies at the Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Berlin , which made him Dr. phil. PhD . In the following years he worked as an assistant and head of department at various agricultural research stations. From 1908 to 1934 he headed the State Agricultural Research Institute Augustenberg in Karlsruhe-Durlach , since 1913 as professor, since 1924 also as director. As deputy chairman of the Association of Agricultural Research Stations and chairman of a feed committee, he made important contributions to the creation of the feed law of 1927. One of his particular merits was the publication of the annual reports of agricultural chemistry for the period from 1914 to 1934.
