Felix Wilhelm

Friedrich Ferdinand Felix Wilhelm (born February 19, 1863 in Budissin , today Bautzen , † December 16, 1941 there ) was a German pedagogue and local researcher.

Felix Wilhelm attended the municipal citizen school in Bautzen, the grammar school and then until 1883 the rural seminar to become a teacher. Then he first taught as a substitute teacher in the Seidau , then as vicar at the evangelical school in Schirgiswalde and a part-time nine years at the Kapitulantenschule of infantry and Hussars Regiment. 103 in Bautzen.

In 1911 Felix Wilhelm became a senior teacher. From 1913 he was deputy director of the Pestalozzi School in Bautzen and director of this institution during the First World War .

From 1896 to 1919, with a short interruption, he was a city councilor, and for several years he was a city councilor for public education and riflemen. As a city councilor, he campaigned heavily for the building of the museum , which came about in 1911.

In 1901 Wilhelm founded the Society for Prehistory and History of Upper Lusatia in Bautzen , thereby establishing institutional research into prehistory and early history in the region. He published numerous publications on his research, in particular on the history of Bautzen .

Felix Wilhelm was married to Maria Martha Groß (1865–1942) from Wuischke near Weissenberg since 1888 .

He died of a stroke at the age of almost 79 and was buried in the cemetery of the Bautzen divers' church.
